The obvious fact is that most of them are women, but more than that, they’ve also proven to the business industry that they have what it takes to win as a driving force in their respective fields. Regional Managing Director of Cresta Hotels Group, Chipo Mandela, shares how the Cresta Group stability in the hospitality industry has been tested and strengthened over the years, compounded by the pandemic.

The ongoing vision for Cresta Hotels is to be the market leader in the three and four-star hospitality market, and our strategy is to create and manage hotels that support this vision in key destination points. As a group, we have hotels in three Southern African countries: Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa. Our Zimbabwean operation runs five of these. As a Group we are excited about the new addition, Cresta Grande, Cape Town.

Cresta Bouncing Back

The past two years, of course, have been disastrous for the international travel and tourism sector, with an almost complete cessation of business and leisure travel. At present, the situation has improved and there are signs of recovery across the world, so we are hopeful that 2023 will yield a significant level of growth, probably not to 2019 levels but after two years of massive disruption, any growth will be positive and welcome, especially if it can be sustained. We look for growth in domestic, regional, and international guest arrivals.
