QUEEN NANDI PLACE:Victoria Falls’ Crown Jewel in Zimbabwe’s MICE Ambitions

A New Era Dawns in the Heart of Victoria Falls

Nestled within the lush expanse of the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate, a new beacon for Zimbabwe’s business tourism sector has emerged — bold, beautiful, and ready to redefine the destination’s global appeal. Queen Nandi Place, officially launched on the 4th of April 2025, is more than a venue. It’s a statement.

Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Zambezi National Park and kissed by the mist of the mighty Victoria Falls, the venue offers an exquisite blend of elegance, heritage, and modern versatility. Its opening was celebrated by leaders in tourism, business, and hospitality — all united in their vision to reposition Zimbabwe as a world-class destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

Honouring a Legacy, Shaping the Future

Named after the legendary Queen Nandi — mother of King Shaka Zulu — the venue draws inspiration from a legacy of strength, dignity, and resilience. This symbolism is beautifully woven into every detail of the space: from its regal architecture to the premium finishes that echo sophistication and pride.

With seating for up to 180 delegates, Queen Nandi Place is equipped with a state-of-the-art events area, a dedicated catering kitchen, and full access to the estate’s award-winning amenities. These include the flagship Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, the luxurious Victoria Falls Safari Club, the vibrant Boma – Dinner & Drum Show, and the tranquil Victoria Falls Safari Spa.

Whether it’s hosting an executive retreat, a brand launch, a destination wedding, or a wellness summit, Queen Nandi Place was built to adapt, inspire and impress.

Collaboration at the Core

Speaking at the launch, Andy Conn, Group Operations Manager of Africa Albida Tourism, emphasised the strategic importance of the venue.

“Queen Nandi Place is not just another venue — it’s a response to the challenges we all face in the destination during the low season. By attracting more upmarket events and meetings over our traditionally quieter months, we hope to fill not only our rooms but rooms across Victoria Falls and drive business for everyone in the destination.”

But infrastructure alone isn’t enough. Anald Musonza, Head of Sales and Marketing, offered a powerful reminder that partnerships will be the true engine of success.

“To grow the MICE business in Victoria Falls, collaboration is key. Queen Nandi Place is just one piece of the puzzle, and we need the entire community to rally together and actively position Victoria Falls as a world-class events destination.”

MICE on the Rise — Africa Takes Centre Stage

The unveiling of Queen Nandi Place couldn’t come at a more opportune time.

The global MICE industry, valued at $782.8 billion in 2023, is projected to soar to $1.3 trillion by 2033. WTM Africa 2025 revealed striking trends — with participation from 96 countries and a 27% increase in buyers, 82% of whom were first-time attendees. The message is clear: Africa is rising as a sought-after destination for global events.

Zimbabwe, recognising the immense economic and branding potential of MICE, is stepping up. Through investments in facilities like Queen Nandi Place and national plans to develop large-capacity conference venues across provinces, the country is boldly positioning itself as a serious player in this high-value sector.

A Destination Reimagined

Victoria Falls has always been a marvel — a natural wonder that captures the soul. Now, it’s being reimagined as more than a leisure destination. With Queen Nandi Place, it becomes a place where ideas converge, deals are made, brands are born, and networks are expanded — all within the embrace of one of the most awe-inspiring settings on Earth.

This isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about legacy, identity, and ambition. Queen Nandi Place stands as a symbol of Zimbabwe’s intent to lead, inspire and connect — through the power of world-class events.
