HARARE, ZIMBABWE | As travelers are returning to the skies, airlines are resuming services that were temporarily cut due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In an effort to lower the risk of contamination, fastjet made drastic changes to their services, both on the ground and in the air. This included cutting most of its in-flight service.
However, as the situation is evolving and airlines are introducing new safety measures, they’re also reopening most lounges and expanding their onboard food and beverage offerings.
Fastjet airline on Valentine’s Day announced reintroducing of complimentary snack-based meals and drinks again on its flights.
Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson, Nunurai Ndawana, said ”Since Covid-19, for a number of reasons, inflight services had been suspended to reduce interaction in the cabin, to reduce movement of people in the cabin and to reduce people removing their masks so that they can eat.”
“With the coming of vaccination for the past year and for its intendancy being low now, today being Valentines, love is in the air, and we are reintroducing our meals on board.”
It has resumed food and drink service on all its flights, all of which are served in newly redesigned prepackaged box to keep clients happy and satisfied. ”Meals will be in the form of a snack that are compatible with our flight times,” Ndawana added.
Complimentary snack-box include mini-Cheddars, TKs halaal biltong, KitKat Chunky Bar and a 200ml Ceres 100% fruit Juice blend.
